Although not instantly recognisable, Aries is the name of Watford Electronics own brand. The Neoview is a 19" for under £200 ex vat. That works out as £223.83 including VAT and delivery, which is not too far from the price you would pay for a branded 17" TFT.

The AL190 has a thick bezel, and a heavy base made of one piece of metal. The screen is supported by a U shaped chrome bar rising up from the base, which also serves as a very useful handle for moving it around. Despite the thick bezel it looks rather good, possibly because there is plenty of screen to go with it.

The specifications are quite average, with a 400:1 contrast ratio, 25 ms response time, and 1280x1024 native resolution. The monitors scaling abilities are very good, so despite its relatively high response time all but the most demanding gamers will be pleased with it. The viewing angle is excellent, and brightness is quite adequate, so it will serve well as a general workstation monitor. As the cheapest 19" in the group test by a long way, and a good quality monitor in its own right, it is very deserving of the best buy award. At this price, it may be worth buying two for that dual monitor set up you've always wanted.
