Following up on Part 1,
we have now had a bit more time with the cards in question, so we can give a more accurate comment on their performance. Over the past few months drivers have been released,
fixing bugs, increasing performance and image quality from both sides. Retail
cards are not exactly plentiful, but when they are we will certainly follow
up with a round up similar to the Christmas
DX9 round up.
To best show off these next generation products, we will be comparing them
to their previous generations and then finally against each other. The following
cards where tested. Thanks go to Gainward and Sapphire for supplying the 5950
Ultra and 9800XT.

The specifications alone give a good indication of performance.
Here are some photos of the products in question, thanks go to
Chris Wozniak who did a couple of these for us. Pictures of the X800XT PE where
excluded becuase it looks identical to the X800PRO and we know how many modem
users are still out there.

6800 Ultra - Although in dual slot configuration here, some partners will be
making a single slot solution.

The 12 Pipe 6800, in a tidy single slot package.

The X800 PRO, looking much like a 9800XT.
