This new toy from Coolermaster is a Baybus with a difference. Three differences
to be precise. Three blue glowing analogue dials. The Musketeer sets itself
apart from other Multifunctional Baybusses by using stylish analogue gauges,
set in an aluminium casing. It comes in a choice of black or silver finish.
My review sample from Overclock.co.uk
is the silver model. It contains a Fanbus, with a dial showing the fan voltage,
a volume meter, showing the volume levels from your sound card, and a temperature
dial, showing the temperature from the supplied probe.
What's In The Box
The Coolermaster Musketeer fits in a CDROM bay and uses a fairly comprehensive
set of cables for its inputs and outputs. You get a temperature sensor wire,
a fan cable with an extra connector for taking the fan RPM signal to the motherboard,
with an extension wire terminated with a 4 pin Molex connector. You also get
a backplate with a couple of jack sockets and a lead on the back of it to take
audio signals to the Musketeer, with a little cable to connect the audio backplate
to your sound card. All the leads are almost a metre long, making it easy to
connect everything up, even in a big case. All the cables plug into sockets
on the back of the unit, which helps simplify what might have been a rats nest
of wiring.
