This high performance offering from Kingmax comes from their Hard-Core Super RAM series. It comes in a gold coloured box, just to make sure you know it is better than the DDR466 which comes in a silver box. This module sports a green heat spreader, similar to other memory of this specification. The box and labels on the DIMM are a little unclear about what timings the module runs at, but seem to imply it can do DDR 500 at CAS 2. Examination of the Kingmax web site shows that this module is only supposed to be CAS 3.

At 16p per megabyte, this is only £20 on top of the price of a generic module, and well worth it for the guarantee that it can keep up with your motherboard when you start overclocking. Not only this, it has a lifetime warranty that can be absolutely invaluable. This really is superb value for money.

This particular set is not designed for dual channel configuration, but they are available in a tested dual channel pack at a price that is no more than it would be for buying two separate modules.

We were limited by the speed of our motherboard, so could not overclock this memory any further than the suggested 500MHz. This is disappointing but also representative of a fairly real world situation.
