The Silverstone Eudemon is an electronic fan controller, which regulates fan
speeds according to the readout of the three temperature sensors supplied with
it.
The Eudemon sports a blue backlit LCD display, which shows the temperature
readouts, and a little animation of a spinning fan, which gives a rough indication
of how fast the fan is going. There is also a hard drive activity indicator,
and for some unknown reason, an alarm clock.
Silverstonetek have again produced some amusingly bad English in the product
documentation. The writing on the box declares:
"The most perfect assassin looks nothing like one -- Sexy sapphire neon
background, Sophisticated electrinical technology,"
Features
- Solid aluminium front plate, steel chassis.
- Three temperature controlled fan controllers
- Blue backlit LCD showing:
* Date
* Time
* Temperature
* Hard Drive usage
* System Power
The Eudemon fits a spare CD-ROM bay, and is controlled entirely by two buttons.
The buttons are solid machined metal, and the front panel is a single lump of
Aluminium. All the leads attach to the PCB on the back via connectors, which
will help minimize unnecessary cabling in your case. The round vents on the
front panel are largely decorative, the only possible use they could have is
to make it easier to hear the alarm buzzer inside the Eudemon. The build quality
is excellent, and I could find no cause for complaint.
