Silverstone TJ05

The Silverstone TJ05 is a large heavy case which uses a composite construction of a strong steel chassis and an aluminium front panel, giving both style and durability. The case has a sophisticated fan controller built in, which can monitor three separate temperature probes and control three fans accordingly. The fan controller is not added as an afterthought, its bright blue LCD screen is integrated into the front panel. Very few compromises have been made in the construction of the TJ05. They have not skimped on the huge amounts of aluminium that make up the front panel, and the case includes a pair of high quality 120mm fans as standard.

Inside the case, you will find everything is tool less. There is a plastic box attached to the bottom of the case, containing all the necessary drive rails and clips, which is a great idea since these small but essential parts often get lost.

Silverstone have used an interesting mechanism for adding card cooling. They have designed a large plate that swings into place over the motherboard. Either this assembly contains a card retaining system and locations for two 80 mm fans, or an additional two hard drives. There is also another fan location on the other side of the case, giving more hard drive cooling. This case is very suitable for overclocking and also potentially a very quiet case. It is built to accommodate a lot of parts, and is ideal for holding RAID arrays and dual processor systems. This is a no nonsense solid case design, but with the added bonus of a stylish and high quality fascia, and tool less mechanisms which actually work.
